In 1979 he became a &lt;a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Born-again_Christian" title="Born-again Christian" style="text-decoration: none; color: rgb(6, 69, 173); background-color: initial;" class="mw-redirect"&gt;born-again Christian&lt;/a&gt; and eventually moved to &lt;a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nashville,_Tennessee" title="Nashville, Tennessee" style="text-decoration: none; color: rgb(6, 69, 173); background-color: initial;"&gt;Nashville&lt;/a&gt;. Signing with &lt;a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Word_Records" title="Word Records" style="text-decoration: none; color: rgb(6, 69, 173); background-color: initial;"&gt;Word Records&lt;/a&gt;, Carroll became a successful Christian music singer, releasing several albums which sold well in the genre and winning seven &lt;a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dove_Award" title="Dove Award" style="text-decoration: none; color: rgb(6, 69, 173); background-color: initial;" class="mw-redirect"&gt;Dove Awards&lt;/a&gt;. 	&lt;/div&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="color: rgb(69, 69, 69); font-family: Herculanum; font-size: 10px;"&gt;The Durey Creek Bluegrass Band gets its name from a stream in Fulton Countyflowing near the North Bush United Methodist Church where the bandoriginated.  The band performs bluegrass and gospel music at churches,community events, fairs, festivals and other venues around Fulton County andthroughout New York State's Capital Region.  Members of the group include:Bob Kilmer on bass, and octave mandolin;  Marilyn Fegley on rhythm guitar,harmony vocals and hallelujahs; Jeff Nasadoski on 5-string banjo; and Nancy&lt;/span&gt;Purcell on lead vocals and acoustic guitar.
